Fifth Stretch Goal Hit, Limited Tiers Remaining, and an EXTENSION UPDATE

Happy Saturday, Western Deep Campaign Followers! 

The Campaign is EXTENDED to APRIL 10th!

This morning, Kickstarter HQ informed all currently-active campaigns that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on crowdfunding campaigns around the world, they would be allowing one-week campaign extensions.

Thanks to your incredible support, our campaign has done very well--better than our Volume One campaign in every conceivable way! But there is unfortunately no denying that the pandemic has affected us the same way it's affected other campaigns in the last few weeks. 

We've been lucky to not only hit our goal, but exceed it by over 160%, and we want to use this as an opportunity not just to hit our remaining goals, but help hype other campaigns in need as well.

We also hope that this extra time offers our supporters additional opportunities to back the tiers they want, and it certainly gives us all a little more time to help spread the word about Beyond the Western Deep.

Limited Tiers and Stretch Goals Remaining

We just cleared $29,000, which means that every single backer (for both physical and digital tiers) will be receiving a brand new FREE bonus PDF with prose stories and artwork from the Western Deep creative team.

It also means that we only have TWO stretch goals left to hit. I wanted to take this opportunity to show all our followers what cool limited tiers are left, and also what stretch goals remain!

From the entire Western Deep team, THANK YOU so much to everyone who's pledged and helped spread the word! We hope that with this extra week of time (THANK YOU, KICKSTARTER!) we'll be able to share Beyond the Western Deep with even more people who wouldn't normally see it.

Please continue to help by RTing our tweets (I'm @tdcpresents on Twitter!) and sharing the campaign link with folks. We're excited to have a little more time to spend on the campaign, and hope we can end it on as strong a note as we started!

Featured Project and Nine Days to Go!

With nine days left in our campaign, we were incredibly pleased and more than a bit excited to see that Beyond the Western Deep Volume Two is floating around as a Featured Kickstarter Project! Hopefully this helps draw even more attention from folks exploring Kickstarter for new, fun comic projects--and there are a lot! If you haven't yet, I definitely recommend exploring the recommendations and seeing what other cool projects are out there.

We're just ONE BACKER AWAY from reaching the number we hit in Volume One (372!) so we're hoping that as we enter the final days of the campaign that more of our campaign followers jump in!

If you're one of our 288 project followers who hasn't jumped in yet, there are still plenty of great rewards and tiers to get. And if there's something that's keeping you from pitching in, be it a reward you wish there was more of or if you're waiting for a certain stretch goal to be reached, just drop us a message! We'd love to hear from you to make both this campaign and any future campaigns more enticing for all our followers!

Fourth Stretch Goal Hit! Over 150% Funded!

We just cleared $27,000, which means every physical backer is getting a pair of FREE iron-on flag patches! Congratulations, everyone!

Our upcoming $29K stretch goal is a really interesting one: a brand new PDF mini-volume containing prose stories authored by Alex Kain (me!) with brand new artwork! Since this is a digital reward, EVERY SINGLE BACKER will receive a copy of it if and when we hit it, so let's try to hit it!

ALSO, after further consulting with the rest of the Western Deep team, we've decided to pull the rest of our currently-opened Volume One hardcover stock for use in the Volume 1+2 hardcover bundles, bringing the total available bundles to 96. 

This will leave us with exactly one box of books per day for Emerald City Comic Con, which is slightly under our past convention needs, but we figure if folks want to check out Volume One right now, we shouldn't limit people from getting it!

Over Halfway to Iron-On Patch Stretch Goal! And a Fun Campaign Plug!

We're now officially past the halfway point in our Kickstarter campaign, and we couldn't be happier to see all the incredible support you've given us! With 14 days left, we're just a hair over $600 away from our canid/ermehn iron-on flag patch stretch goal, which will see ALL PHYSICAL TIER BACKERS receiving a FREE pair of iron-ons featuring the flags of these mortal enemies!

You're free to pick a side, or just show your Western Deep colors to whomever might be passing by--that's up to you! And of course if we hit our $32,000 stretch goal, this tier will EXPAND to encompass every single flag in the known Western Deep world!

NINJA BEAR!

I wanted to take this opportunity to give a shout out to another fun all-ages webcomic-turned-printed book Kickstarter that could use your help right about now!

NINJA BEAR is a comic about... well, a ninja bear! Adventure, hilarity, and general shenanigans ensue in classic all-ages fashion, and I encourage folks who are fans of Legend of Zelda, Usagi Yojimbo, or the latest television entries of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to give it a spin!

This is a perfectly-timed coincidence, and it's thanks in part to Volume Two guest artist and Lackadaisy Cats creator Tracy Butler, who pledged just enough to put us at $25,000, unlocking the Kenosh pin for all backers who pledged to receive a Hardin pin! It's a DOUBLE PIN SET NOW!

First, to make sure I don't bury the lede, let me say up front that Tracy Butler is collaborating with an incredibly talented animation team to create a Lackadaisy animated short via a Kickstarter campaign!

She's been incredibly kind and encouraging to us over the years (going so far as to produce an incredible piece of art for this very Kickstarter), and we'd like to return the favor by encouraging our backers to go check out her campaign pitch.
